PUTRAGIS

February 27, 2003

mga bagong biling pelikulang DVD na nakaabang at di mapanood dahil sa sobrang antok… minority report, bourne identity, XXX, my big fat greek wedding, proof of life, beetlejuice, casablanca, bankok haunted, 9 1/2 weeks, lolita, ballistic, road to perdition, signs, notting hill, die another day, (para ka namang) the others, iris at in the bedroom.

oo nga pala, sama mo na yung putragis – hehehe… filipino for “poltergeist”.

PEACE AND QUIET

February 26, 2003

SOMEONE TOLD ME LONG AGO

February 25, 2003

maynila, maynila…

CHILI CRABS

February 24, 2003

WORK BLUES

February 23, 2003

NOT IN MY NAME

February 21, 2003

the united nations daw risk being a footnote in history if they do not agree to the us and uk’s terms to wage war in iraq. damn, such fucking arrogance. kaya maraming naiinis sa kanila eh. porke sila ang pinakamalakas na bansa sa mundo, akala nila pwede na nilang i-bully lahat ng mga maliliit na bansa.

ok… now that i have rested, i think that i can think a lot clearly now. di ako nakatulog agad pagdating ko kahapon dito sa singapore from japan. naidlip ako ng mga 6 am at nagising ng 7 am. isang oras lang na tulog at back to work na nanam.

February 16, 2003

halo my lab.

PEACE RALLY IN TOKYO

February 16, 2003

TURNING JAPANESE, PART 4

February 15, 2003

Along the way ay may nadaanan kaming temple at siyempre Kodak ako.

VALENTINES DAY IN JAPAN

February 14, 2003

gandang gabi my love…

just arrived at the hotel sa tokyo. tapos nang osaka leg ng trip ko at mukhang ok naman ang seminar namin. sa wakas nakasakay na rin ako sa pinagyayabang nilang “shinkansen” (aka bullet train). masarap naman talagang sakyan dahil mabilis at very convenient. nakatulog nga ako eh. hehehe. nawala tuloy yung balak kong tumingin outside the window of the train to look for mt. fuji. sana di ako humilik – nakakahiya sa kasama kong hapon.

TURNING JAPANESE, PART 2

February 12, 2003

TURNING JAPANESE

February 11, 2003

good morning my love.

pasensya ka na’t di ako makatawag. walang signal ang cell phone ko rito sa japan. di ko alam kung harang lang ang signal dahil sa position ng hotel room ko or wala talagang roaming sa japan. anyway, nandito na ako sa hotel after a long bus ride and a longer plane ride. malamig dito ngayon at sana nandito ka sa tabi ko.

ALLIGATOR KING

February 9, 2003

“Alligator King”, SESAME STREET

One two three four five six seven!
Said the Alligator King to his seven sons,
“I’m feelin’ mighty down.
Whichever of you can cheer me up
Will get to wear my crown.”

His first son brought seven oyster pearls
From the bottom of the China Sea.

The second gave him seven statues of girls
With clocks where their stomachs should be.

The third son gave him seven rubies
From the sheikdom down there beneath.
The King thought the rubies were cherries,
And he broke off seven of his teeth.

The fourth son tried to cheer him up
With seven lemon drops.
The King said, “I’m sorry son,
Since that ruby episode, I just haven’t got the chops.”

The fifth son brought the King perfume
In seven fancy silver jars;
The King took a whiff, and he broke out in spots
‘Cause it smelled like cheap cigars.

The sixth son gave him seven diamond rings
To wear upon his toes.
The King snagged his foot on the royal red rug
And crumpled up his nose.

The seventh son of the Alligator King
Was a thoughtful little whelp.
He said, “Daddy, appears to me
That you could use a little help.”

Said the Alligator King to his seventh son,
“My son, you win the crown.
You didn’t bring me diamonds or rubies, but
You helped me up when I was down.
Take the crown; it’s yours, my son.
I hope you don’t mind the dents.
I got it on sale at a discount store-
Cost me all of seven cents!”
Seven!

PAYSCALE BLUES

February 7, 2003

A SINGAPORE worker in manufacturing is paid about 14 times more than one in China and almost three times more than a Malaysian. But his wages are still competitive because he is more productive.

so says the singaporean government. the wage difference is probably true. the productiveness? perhaps true as well. wala kasing welfare dito sa singapore. ayaw ng gobyerno dahil nagiging tamad daw ang mga tao. in short, if you don’t work, you don’t get paid. if you don’t get paid, nobody here will help you. if you don’t work hard, you get fired. ergo – singaporeans are productive.

unlike other western countries, where welfare takes care of the unemployed – over here, you sink or swim. considering that singapore is a nation of ONLY 3 million people – their productiveness is quite an acheivement.

Killer-litter woman

February 7, 2003

SINGAPORE: Killer-litter woman acquitted

A 50-YEAR-OLD woman who threw furniture, documents and her five cats from her ninth-floor Housing Board flat, has been let off with a warning. Ms Kaye Lea was acquitted by a magistrate’s court yesterday after the prosecution withdrew the charge against her for committing a rash act that endangered people.

She had been charged with throwing a wooden chair, a cardboard box of documents, three paperback books and a box of clothing from her Clementi Avenue 4 flat in October last year. According to newspaper reports then, she also flung out the five cats.

The former legal executive was said to have quit her job because of health problems. She was remanded at the Institute of Mental Health for two weeks for an assessment.

She was subsequently released on bail.

AHIT RUBY

February 6, 2003

LONDON (Reuters) – Men who don’t shave every day enjoy less sex and are 70 percent more likely to suffer a stroke than daily shavers, a new study shows.

buti na lang, nag-aahit ruby ako araw-araw.

if you only have time

February 5, 2003

if you only have time to visit one site today, make sure you visit “the little prince”. it brings back memories of high school and the many times we were asked to read the compulsary books (and write the report afterwards, of course).

english teacher gives you the required reading at the start of the school year. tamad kasi kaya, you don’t pay attention to it until it’s the last day before submission. and so you read (with a whole lot of complaints…e.g. “pano ko babasahin ito eh wala namang pictures!”). and then slowly you like it..and then finally, you like it so much that you’re hooked.

twenty years later you ask yourself why the FU@#*^&!@$#@$NG hell did you spend $350 on books on a single shopping binge… and so, you blame “the little price” and “animal farm” and “the lord of the flies” and all the other books that were forced fed to you a long long time ago.
