SELLING IN

March 7, 2004

TAKEN DURING OUR VACATION LAST YEAR (please click to enlarge): a reuinion of sorts with my partners in crime for 12 years. si uly on my left at si ting on my right. so far, i have not found anybody as competent and fun loving as these guys. before i “sold out“, i worked as an engineer in the philippines. si ulysses yung nasa kaliwa at si ting yung nasa kanan. etong mga taong ito ang mga partners in crime ko for 12 years. simula 1989 hanggang 2001, inikot namin ang buong pilipinas doing projects sa halos lahat ng industria. from the rain forests of mount apo to the stinking industrial plants along the tullahan river. from power plants to breweries, amid erupting volcanoes, land slides, storms and gun toting soldiers. i’ve seen people fall off cliffs, get electricuted and get run over by pickup trucks all in the line of duty. we didn’t do it for the money. we did it because we loved our jobs. we loved the fact that we enjoyed each other’s company and that were doing something worthwhile.

one of these days, i will post the pictures taken back to the time when we were still building plants up in the mountains. when on sunday days-off like this, we’d all be huddled in our mess hall, drinking tequila and playing cards, wearing raincoats over jackets because it’s so cold and raining so hard and the damn roof is leaking like hell.

bay, if you like, medyo marami rin akong kuhang mga litrato ng mt. apo. you mentioned kasi na one of these days, ipo-post mo yung pictures ng apo.
    keep up!

  2. hey ogie.

musta na diha sa bukid? i heard that you successfully tested the mt. apo interconnection with fort bonifactio! great job. i hope your bosses in manila appreciate it.

ayos ba sa mga posting sa blog? marami kang mababasa sa site ko – more than 3 years of stories of my experiences as an engineer here in singapore. salamat sa pagbisita and for commenting. sana magbalik ka parati at mag iwan ng mga message. sige – tuturuan ko kayong gumawa ng website ng mga “pocholokoys” para mas masaya. pag uwi ko ng maynila, igagawa ko kayo.

if you can send me really crisp, clear and high res photos of mt apo, i would appreciate it. siyempre – isama mo rin ang picture ng group ninyo para naman ma special mention ko kayo.

hindi notre dame hymn ang ginawa ko. yung translation contest na pinanalo ko ay yung “notre dame, our mother”. i will try to scan the “notredamer” magazine where the pilipino “notre dame our mother” was published and will send it over to you.
